Indian Wells, California
Nobu Indian Wells represents the latest addition to Chef Matsuhia’s empire of Asian fusion restaurants. It was constructed in tandem with new Stadium 2 at Indian Wells Tennis Garden and completed just weeks before the 2014 BNP Paribas Open. Going from Schematic Design to Restaurant opening in just under six months, this unheard-of building schedule compares only to the menu. No detail was overlooked, nor underbuilt, as the Japanese Craftsman style includes Brazilian Walnut Ipe wood floors, custom made teak furniture and cabinetry, open rafter ceiling, and works-of-art light fixtures. While no two Nobu’s are alike, this one offers the most unique sushi experience yet, offering window-front dining to the tennis matches. Rave reviews from fans and players alike poured in throughout the Open, most speaking to the unblemished perfection that is Nobu’s culinary trademark.
